Job Description: 

POSITION PURPOSE

This temporary position assists the Engineering section with engineering document creation and editing, equipment walk downs, equipment data collection, assisting with small projects, and helping with organizing and updating the drawing system. This position will also support the reliability engineering initiatives for the Laramie River Station (LRS).

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist engineering with plant documentation.
  • Assist engineers with technical data research.
  • Render technical assistance to plant hourly employees.
  • Assist engineering with plant data collection and evaluation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year Electrical, Mechanical, Civil, or Structural Engineering (EAC/ABET accredited) program with Sophomore year completed, or recent graduate (within the past 12 months).
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous internship or relevant work experience.
  • Additional certifications or coursework in field of study.
     

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

This position requires frequent sitting, and standing/walking; and occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, use of keyboard/computer, bending/reaching, kneeling, lifting/carring up to 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position occasionally may work in conditions of dirt/dust, fumes, chemicals, extreme heat/cold, vibration, noise, poor ventilation, electrical risks, and confined areas. This position requires good hearing and vision, and the ability to speak. The incumbent may be required to work at heights up to 250 feet, which requires the use of safety equipment, including a harness, in accordance with ANSI Z359 standards. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines. This position must be respirator qualified and able to operate a motor vehicle.
