POSITION PURPOSE
This position is located at our Laramie River Station Location in Wheatland, WY.
This position inspects, receives, stores, and issues parts and supplies; and maintains computerized inventory records.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES
- Unload freight from vendors using the package conveyor or forklift. Verify incoming freight with the freight bill and inspect for visual damage. Ensure there is proper documentation/identification for all shipments.
- Verify parts with the packing lists and purchase order to ensure correct delivery and input a receiving report into the computer. Prepare an OSD&D (Over, Short, Damaged or Discrepant) report for any parts that do not match the pack slip or purchase order. Store the incoming parts in the appropriate location.
- Retrieve and issue parts to personnel and assist in researching requests for parts.
- Perform picking and staging transactions following established procedures and guidelines. This requires that parts for job kits are pulled and staged per the maintenance schedule for upcoming work, with the schedule for parts to be pulled determined by the need date/backlog schedule. Also requires kits be delivered to the various plant staging locations, for kits rolling to maintenance ready to be installed. This may also require pickup of unused kit parts to be returned to stock.
- Conduct physical inventories of the warehouse and maintain logs of miscellaneous tools in use by other departments.
- Perform general warehouse housekeeping, relocate and set up storage areas, prepare material for outbound shipments, and pick up parts in town. (LRS)
- Follow all general plant safety rules and specific procedures for unloading and handling freight and drums of chemicals. (LRS)
- Perform other duties as assigned.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED).
- Two-year trade/technical program with controlled inventory course and 1 year of experience in maintaining a controlled inventory; or
- 3 years of experience in maintaining a controlled inventory.
- A valid driver’s license.
PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS
This position requires extensive walking; frequent sitting, standing, reaching, and use of keyboard/computer; and occasional bending, climbing, kneeling, crawling, pushing, and lifting up to 50 pounds. The incumbent may be exposed to heat, cold, dirt, dust, hazardous substances such as chemicals, and noise. Finger dexterity, good color vision/hearing, the ability to weigh/measure items, and to perform detail work are required. Equipment used includes computer terminal, PDT (portable display terminal), stack rack system; package conveyor; hydraulic dock system; portable dock; forklift; pick-up with hydraulic lift gate. This position frequently drives a motor vehicle due to various warehouse locations and picking up parts in town.
KEY SKILLS
- General knowledge of hand tools, electrical, mechanical, and industrial parts.
- Proficiency with a personal computer, Microsoft Word and Microsoft Outlook.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Able to read, comprehend, and follow written and verbal instructions, and perform basic arithmetic calculations
- Knowledge of warehousing and inventory control.
Wage: $46.50 per hour
