Job Description: 

POSITION PURPOSE

This is a temporary position that provides general labor assistance at the plant site. 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist with general laborer and maintenance and work. 
  • Perform grounds keeping activities: clean-up, mowing, cutting weeds, building cleanup and other duties, as assigned.
  • Assist with other company functions, such as Family Night. 
  • Check, lubricate, and maintain fuel levels on all equipment operated. Report all equipment problems to the supervisor as required
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Shoveling snow, ash, and coal; moving materials when assigned. 
  • Perform routine recordkeeping and report equipment problems by completing work requests as required.
     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be at least 18 years.
  • A high school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSED). 
  • A valid Driver’s license.
  • This position may have to work various hours due to different schedules.
     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Enrollment as a full-time student in a post-secondary degree program. 
     

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

  • This position requires constant standing/walking; frequent lifting/carrying up to 35 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds; and occasional use of keyboard/computer, lifting/carrying up to 50 pounds, pushing/pulling up to 60 pounds, sitting, bending/reaching, and climbing. This position may also be exposed to heat/cold, dirt/dust, chemicals, and noise. The incumbent may be required to work in confined areas. This position is assigned to work both indoors and outdoors. This position must be respirator qualified.

  • Experience with personal computers and Microsoft Word and Outlook.

  • Ability to perform close work, communicate effectively with others, present information in a clear, concise manner.
  • Ability to read, comprehend, and follow verbal / written instructions.
  • The incumbent may operate any of the following: forklift, skid steer loader, trucks, lawn mower, snow blower, farm tractors up to 180 horsepower, and small hand tools and equipment.  
     

Wage: $18 per hour
