Job Description: 

POSITION PURPOSE

This position provides temporary, project-based assistance in the Energy Markets division at headquarters. The incumbent will gain exposure to Cooperative operations and practices while supporting teams with hands-on tasks and assignments appropriate to their field of study.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist with the checkout process of gas purchase and sales contracts to ensure accurate settlement of transactions. 
  • Assist with the settlement of wind purchase power agreements with numerous counterparties such as validating curtailments and providing calculations for the counterparties to confirm. 
  • Assist with teh settlement of short-term transmission, energy and capacity transactions. 
  • Complete monthly biling.
  • Investigate abnormalities in market activities to determine causes and develop solutions to resolve or improve market activities. 
  • Support the development and expansion of data and systems related to market analysis functions. 
  • Project assignments and ad-hoc requests for data and analysis to support Energy Markets and reporting processes. 
  • Follow safety, security, and procedural guidelines.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
     

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year Business, Finance, or Accounting program with at least two years completed or recent graduate (within the past 12 months).
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous internship or relevant work experience.
  • Additional certifications or coursework in field of study.
     

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

This position requires the ability to remain in a stationary position and to move about the office building, occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, constant use of keyboard/computer and other office productivity machinery, bending, kneeling, lifting/carrying up to 10 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination.

Wage: $23/hour
