Job Description: 

POSITION PURPOSE

This is a temporary position that assists the Electrical Engineering section at headquarters. The incumbent must be available to work a minimum of 40 hours per week.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES

  • Assist with the development of technical drawings to improve troubleshooting.
  • Verify as built conditions and subsequent drawing updates.
  • Assist engineering staff on project assignments.
  • Generate tracking reports.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Be at least 18 years of age.
  • Be enrolled as a full-time student in a four-year Electrical Engineering (EAC/ABET accredited) program with Sophomore year completed, or recent graduate (within the past 12 months).
  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.5.
  • Hold a valid driver’s license.

    This position is identified as a Critical Infrastructure Protection (CIP) related position, which may allow physical and/or logical access to Bulk Electric System (BES) cyber related assets or systems. 


     

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Previous internship or relevant work experience.
  • Additional certifications or coursework in field of study.
     

PHYSICAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL DEMANDS

This position requires frequent sitting, and standing/walking; and occasional reaching below and above shoulder level, use of keyboard/computer, bending/reaching, kneeling, lifting/carring up to 50 pounds, and pushing/pulling up to 20 pounds. It also requires finger dexterity and hand coordination. This position occasionally may work in conditions of dirt/dust, fumes, chemicals, extreme heat/cold, vibration, noise, poor ventilation, electrical risks, and confined areas. This position requires good hearing and vision, and the ability to speak. It also requires the ability to develop plans, procedures and goals; present information to others; and work under stress to complete projects within deadlines. This position may need to be respirator qualified. Occasional travel may be required.

    Wage: $26.00/hour
